Fabulous First Graders

I love my Fabulous Firsties! 

They are sweet. 

They are so thoughtful. 

They are hard workers. 

 Most importantly....They love coming to school. 

That makes me the happiest teacher on the planet! 

First Grade is FABULOUS!

My Kinder Kids rocked SOOOO much last year, that I begged to Loop to First Grade with them.  I am now teaching 1st grade after being in Kindergarten for the past 13 years.  So.  It  truly made one of the most exciting days of my life when  I got to tell the kids and their families about the opportunity for me to be their First Grade Teacher!

It was the most incredible day.  Seriously! 

So, now I have been with these same little stinkers and we are finished with our 4th full week of 1st Grade.  It has been fantastic!  I am so excited to see how much they can learn and stretch their brains this year.  I'm also excited about the new technology possibilities.  You know...'cuz 1st Graders are WAAY more independant than Kinders, right? 

I have an iPad that the kids are allowed to use for math and communication arts.  I have quite a few apps that the kids used last year, but I am looking for more work that is grade level appropriate. 

Because of all the new technology possibilities, I've spent quite a bit of time looking at blogs, stealing borrowing  ideas from others, and looking for good ideas for teaching with technology!  Guess what I found!?!  www.technologytailgate.com.  They have a lot of terrific information.  I highly recommend that you visit the site.  Parents, you too.  They are even having a huge give away right now.  You have 2 days left to get in on the opportunity.  Go.  Yes, now.  I'll quit babbling.

I hope to make this classroom blog a more visited site this year.  I want to let the kids get involved with the blogging, too.  It's a goal.  A girl can dream, right?  :)  Happy reading friends!
